What brand muffler would give it the best "roar"?
The "stock" exhaust has an h-pipe. Most aftermarket exhaust systems go with x-pipes for a little better flow. H-pipes typically have a lower growl from what I've heard. And IMO right now I think Stainless Works exhuast has the best sound but they don't sell there mufflers.

Roar can mean many things to many people. A roar, to me, doesn't have rasp, and I think you're going to find rasp with some chambered mufflers (i.e. Flowmaster, Hooker, Edelbrock). Magnaflow, Borla, Corsa, to me, have a lot less rasp, given the exhaust is the same forward. I don't mind a little, but I've heard some Loudmouth Is and Hookers catbacks behind LS1s with LTs and even with cats', there was a good amount of rasp. Cats' can kill some of it, but I even got some with cats' and with my QTEC closed on my Borla adjustable CB. It was really controlled, IMHO, but there was still some there. Many people say rasp is also influenced by H, X, and Y-pipes, and since these cars don't have Y-pipes, that eliminates that factor. I think if you stay with mufflers that aren't chambered, you'll get a roar and not sound like a big tractor lumbering down the freeway. If that's the sound you're looking for, and like rasp, I think the setups I offerred will get you that sound. It's still a little early to tell how these cars are going to sound though, given the few systems that are out there at this point. I'll be listening for them though

on the cobra's, the mid pipe is what has the largest say on whether or not a car has rasp.

x pipes are raspier while h's are deeper.
Straight thru mufflers are raspier, chambered mufflers are deeper but with much more drone.
