I think he was asking , what trouble shooting was done to determine you had a COOLANT LEAK problem?

Overheating? Gauges reading HOT?

I think LB may not have noticed there is a reservoir for the IC coolant. If I'm wrong, I'm sorry

I've not seen a reservoir. I only saw the two hoses connected with the fill valve on top that can be viewed to see if fluid is in the hose or not. I know of now way to determine fill level other than this....

If anyone had a pic how to check this..... would be appreciated. I admit my ignorance on this.

Always open to learn....

(PS: Dale... if you are reading this, I will check on this next week when I bring my car over.... maybe you know of how to check this!)

My ZL1 came straight off the transport truck leaking coolant from the intercooler radiator on the front of the car. Couldn't even take delivery untill it was worked on and got my first door scratch from the service department

Look at the diagram posted above (BTW - thanks for the posting that). The cap is actually turned to the passenger side when you remove the engine cover so it can clear the cover. Remove the cover, and turn the cap to top center. There is a purple snap ring that keeps the cap secured. turn the cap a 1/4 turn and gently grab or pry the snap ring and pull it outward. Once removed the cap will simply twist off. The coolant level should be at the bottom of the neck where the cap goes.

Installation is reverse of the removal, but make sure the slots on the cap line up with the slots on the neck so the ends of the snap ring can be pressed back into place. Don't force the snap ring; it should just click back into place if the slots are lined up correctly. Once secured, turn the cap 1/4 turn back to the passenger side and install the engine cover. It sounds harder than it really is.

Quick question for you guys.

Would this part have been affected by the increased HP and fluid flow needed to cool the supercharger? Could you guys have gone beyond the tolerances designed for this part?

no need to remove snap ring. its designed so when you twist it it releases but remains on the cap. im pretty sure that it can only flow what that pump is rated at. so it shouldnt be getting any more flow unless they put a higher gallon per minute pump

Thank you Ted!

It's just a piece of shit of a part. Good thing is we are just about done with a bigger more efficient brick so thanks GM for forcing us again to improve the product!
