Carlyle is in a different ballpark in the boost and power then all of us on here as well. He is making close to 50lbs of boost.

Chris
I have the MAST Black Label heads but I just had one side show signe of lifting and think I just need to re torque them and will be fine. I am only running 26 lbs of boost at this time and am putting down around 1400-1500rwhp.

I just had one head lift as there were just a couple wet marks so I am still beating the sh%t out it. Where is car, you seem to have vanished?
How much power is your car making? You realize marks car makes over 2500 hp right?

My car is only putting down 1400-1500rwhp range and I am fully aware of Marks car and understand it is a different animal as Im not trying to compare my car to Marks. I was just stating what the IPS guys told me and they werent surprised I lifted a head either. Im still on blower only and not even thinking of using the nitrous yet as I still have alot of boost that I can bring in if needed.

Honestly, I dont think you you should be having any head lifting issues.
Your making alot of power, but not to the point of lifting the heads. There are a hand full of guys with similar setups in the 18-2000hp range without issues. You may have something else going on.

Thanks guys but Im 99% confident that the heads werent tightened enough as we were given 2 different numbers to torque and we went with the lesser number. We were told torque them to 70lbs and also told 85lbs and we went with 70lbs so I think it should have been the 85lbs and should fix this issue.

Not sure what head studs your using, however the torque specs on the ARP we use for the LSX Blocks are 90ftlbs and 28ftlbs.

I have the ARP studs and like I said the issue is not torqueing the heads enough so no big deal. I am switching to the ARP Pro Series studs as well just to be safe.

Good choice. You will like those. They are nice and shiny as well.

At what psi should you worry about lifting the heads on the stock stuff. The stock heads are only 4 bolt, right?

Thanks fellas!

I've seen numerous 4-bolt block heads go 20+ psi without an issue. 4DRush runs mid 8's on a 4-bolt block and about 20-25psi out of a YSi or Novi 2500. Digivex is running 22psi on 4-bolt and running 8.90 index. Both cars run 1/2 ARP studs. Yes these are in Vettes, not Camaro's

I'm running 22psi out of a Novi 2200 with 4-bolt block and using the L19 ARP studs.

Its really not about the boost pressure. It is the cylinder pressures that lift the heads. With a good tune, the correct spark plugs for the power you are wanting to make, and some good race gas, will definatly help the heads stay in place.
