It already happened. A long time ago. Back in the early '80s. It was horrible.

...Just don't see the logic with the new Camaro's...The brand has been adding hp....ZL1...LFX...etc....4 cyl is going the wrong way!...lol

Even though they may have had them before, there was no big hp alternative, either...

1982-86 a 4 cylinder was available, not for me but they offered it.

A 6 is small enough.

I used to have a Z-24 with a 210 hp V-6. Pretty quick little car, but it weighed 2,800 lbs, about 1000 lbs less than a Gen 5 Camaro.

A turbo V-6 Camaro in the 350 hp range would be pretty nice if it was under 3,000 lbs.

But a 4? Fuggedaboudit!

Not exactly. 6th gen will be smaller and lighter. Technically a turbo 4 is going the right way.

The NA sizes are putting out close to 350 now. A turbo 6 would be way beyond that. The 2.0Ts are actually a very nice powerplant. Very broad torque curve and in a lighter car would perform close to what the LS/LT does now. Tune it (maybe GM will have a factory performance tune???) and it will outperform them.

Ok.

Among the 2.0T engine’s highlights: a direct-injection twin-cam, four-valve-per-cylinder engine with continuously variable valve timing; twin-scroll turbocharger with air-to-air intercooler; forged-steel crankshaft with modular balance shaft system; and a two-stage variable-displacement oil pump with jet-spray piston cooling.

Wow, that is the first RHD gen 3 Firebird I've seen. Interesting the brake booster is still on the left side.
