I have done most of my own work, except for needing help releasing the shifter springs and using the saw to install the axle backs.

It's good to see that DIY'ing hasn't become a lost ambition even though the 5th gen Camaro is a major step up in complexity from the previous generations. Anybody whose first inclination is to pick up a set of wrenches instead of a checkbook or some piece of plastic with a 16 digit number on it has my respect.

No matter how basic the task might be; everybody has to start somewhere, and you'll begin to tackle more difficult tasks as your experience, confidence, and tool collection grows.

Over the years there hasn't been much I haven't tackled on a DIY basis right in my own garage and driveway. Alignment, body work and frame weld repair, engine assembly and swapping, transaxle rebuild, paint, tuned an aftermarket EFI via laptop, suspensions, differentials and axle gears, mounted tires, the usual brakes, oil, coolant, clutches, alternators, water pumps, . . . a little bit of a lot of things except A/C and windshield replacement, actually.

Take pride in doing it yourself and being more independant save some extra money for mods and more tools.
Fixed . . .

I really, REALLY want a lift these days . . .

So if you have done anything feel free to post before and after pictures and we'll definately salute you on a job well done.
The rotors were from a recent job on the Mustang (along with HP+ pads), the other bits are souvenirs from a couple of the more memorable repair occasions. Look carefully around that exhaust valve and know that the little bent round piece of metal (in the grey area of the rotor box) had something to do with it and also with that piston.

Only two other people have touched my car, the window tinter and the pinstriper. If I ever get new rear gears a pro will do those for me. I have done everything else.

Can you please provide more info on this? I would really like to work on my trans.

Oh and for the thread:
Drop springs, S/s brake lines, shifter, painted a bunch of stuff(well I removed from the car lol) removed front bumper cover, and rear. Will be dropping the rear subframe for bushings and stuff, and also doing a cam swap in a few months!

So much satisfaction comes from working on my own car. Especially when I works properly when i'm done!

I let the dealer do my first 2 years of oil changes free, I had Quality Auto Trim apply the clear bra, and I have a paint guy who painted the quarter flares IBM for me. Otherwise I've done most of my mods, and if it's too tough for me, my guy Dennis is there for backup. I painted the engine cover and under-hood trim myself (it's in the middle of a re-mod now though), and I painted inside the headlights & my grills, D helped me with the blue/white halo mod busting those headlights apart and the wiring. I installed the Hurst shifter, the catch can, and the ported throttle body. I also do all the prepwork before shows, with the porter-cable 7424 xp, meguires professional line of detailing products and a mountain of microfiber.
We are very lucky to live on land with a nice shop building, welder, and tons of tools so we can do all these projects ourselves.
If you would like to see these mods, click on my signature picture, and visit my build thread.
