I saw that parking garage when my wife and I went to the Spindletop restaraunt Downtown. Very nice spot for some photos. Great looking shots and a couple of great looking cars!!

Thanks! I need to look up this spindle top restaurant... The garage is a great location, but it was too well lit that what I prefer.

The food is good, reservations are a must since there is very limited seating.

As the restaraunt is rotating the roof of that garage is part of the scenery lol.

Cool, thanks! I'll have to save that for a special occasion...

some of these shots have to much halo effects around the cars, and the cars are not sharp.

I tend to like hdr and use it alot, though in a much more subtle way...

however this is my personal preference, not saying its right for anybody else..

anyways, good work.

I don't mean to sound negative, I like the shots, the location is excellent.

you did well and keep shooting...

I was merely reflecting some personal preferences, but again, not saying my way is the only way or even the correct way.

When using HDR it is rather easy to get the Halo effect especially in the surreal heavy HDR...

I would like to see more of your work, in HDR, but more subtle and the cars sharper.

It would be fun to be able to shoot some images with you.

have a happy thanksgiving...

No hard feelings. I'm no where near profession; it's something I do to get my mind off other things... I appreciate the feedback and look forward to making improvements.

Most of the pictures I take are shot and processed in HDR (mainly subtle enhancements, but I admit I've used more unrealistic effects in the past couple of months)... Part of the halo effect in the pics are exaggerated by the fact that I added Vignette to the pics to give a better contrast between the cars and the background; next time I'll try bringing the vignette closer to the edge of the cars. Maybe you can give me some advice on uploading pics: All the pics posted above (except for the last one) are much sharper on my computer, but somehow lost sharp detail when I uploaded them to photobucket. Do you have any tips on uploading better quality images? Maybe a specific file format (i.e. not jpeg)? Should I resize the pics myself rather than let photobucket resize for me?

It would be nice to shoot photos with someone who knows what they're doing AND willing to give advice!

You have a Happy Thanksgiving as well!

Here are a few other pics I've taken and processed in HDR:

I don't use a photobucket account, but that makes sense, as several of the photography forums I belong to mention that photobucket at times displays the images different, for whatever reason.

I have a account through www.fatcow.com, I get my own domain name (I use to run a 1950's rock'n roll website), I simply upload all of my photo's there. It is $99 a year, but worth it to me, as my email accounts also come from here.

The shots you just posted are great, the car is sharper. I like me some sharp images, with the subject tact sharp, but again, that is a personal preference, sometimes depending on the scene, a soft focus on the subject works.

Some might say my images are too sharp also. (me and my son debate this all the time, he actually has more HDR experience then I do)

Here is a HDR image of my Chantilly Lace, I don't think anybody really snapped that it was, but the HDR was subtle enough to pull out more detail in the shadow areas.

This image was tricky, as I was in a garage, if I exposed for the car, the blue lights got blown out, if I exposed for the blue lights, the car was too dim, the scene under exposed, so I wound up shooting 3 exposures (mild ev changes) and made a very subtle HDR image to make the overall scene more pleasing, and bring out some shadow detail in the black paint of the car, also maintaining very sharp focus.

This was shot with my Sony A65 using a 35mm f/1.8 prime lens.
