Im on the same boat, but personally im leaning toward FI my V6.
Think of it this way, if you trade-in for the SS: You already paid taxes on the 38k, you will need to pay taxes again for the SS. i think right there you will be out like 6 grand. (the cost of a supercharger) And this is just for the taxes, not including the chunk of money you will loose at the trade. Good luck with youre decision. BTW: Sorry for youre loss.

Sorry for the attitude and your father. I am a father of 6 wonderful children. Your dad would want you to be happy with whatever you do. just remember you must make decisions on the principle you will never live to regret them.

It's all good man. I understand. Sometimes I hear bratty kids whine about stuff, and I wasn't wanting my post to sound like someone who wasn't appreciative of what they have. The main reason I bought the Chevy is because my father was always a chevy guy so it was nice to have him take a ride in it before he passed. He was very jealous of it, but proud at the same time. I just really wanted the SS from the get go, but didn't want to tie up all my money in it at that time. I'm more than happy with what I have (Still a lot more horsepower than anything I've owned before) and will more than likely just wait until that 6th gen comes out. Thanks for the input, and for the apology. That actually means a lot to me in this day and age. I've always been raised to be courteous of others, and it's nice to see others act the same.

I vote you wait for the 6th generation and just get whatever V8 model will be around at that time. Maybe a nifty Z28, eh?

@ Christian: Yeah I thought about FI too, but I do get concerned about engine problems down the line. I'll probably just stick with what I have and stop being jealous of the SS owners haha. I'm still doing a hell of a lot better than most people I know, especially to own a car such as this. And thank you about my father. He loved Chevy. In my blood I suppose haha.

A 10k mile 2008 C6 can be bought for 30k right now, soon enough the price will take a big dip again and used ones will flood the market.

Not you, the OP, dropping a 5yr/100k mile warranty on a brand new 2013 sounds a bit silly......
That will eat into the car value as well when the 6th gen comes out around 2015

Just be patient and wait, you will thank yourself later on down the road when you are better off financially. I am the exact same way with my Subaru. I own a 2011 2.5i (base non-turbo model), but I am REALLY tempted to trade it in for the beautiful $30,000 WRX sitting at my local dealership. I keep telling myself that I will own a WRX some day when the time is right, and to just be patient.

@Steel: I love the Camaro, but those WRX's are fun to drive aren't they! I own a 99 Subaru Impreza RS as well, and while the Camaro has the speed, that Subaru will kill it on the curves. I live in the mountains, and I could go 80 no problem through some of those twists and turns.
