Trade my 2013 LT for SS OR Turbo/Supercharge?

I bought my 2013 2LT back in September, and while I love it, I wouldn't mind some more power. I went to a few dealers and they are all saying they'll give me trade allowance of 28-30K which is crazy since I paid 38K just 3 months ago. I'm only asking for 34-35K which I don't think is outrageous, but after yesterday I wonder if just putting a turbo or supercharger might be the better option. I would love to move up to an SS so I wouldn't have to worry about the whole messing with warranty thing, or my car just dying after doing all that work, but I'm not going to accept that large of a loss on a basically new vehicle. Any suggestions folks?

Really!!!! With the internet the whole world is at your fingertips. You must research, research, research before you commit to buy. Test drive all before you buy. eek out the best deal before you buy. Why on earth are you talking about this now with a brand new vehicle.

Keep the vehicle for three years do your homework and custom order a gen 6 from the factory.

I actually took a couple months of researching and test driving before making my decision, so you can take that BS elsewhere. I at the time was looking at the LT models because financially it worked best for me. However, I have more room financially now so that's why I'm looking at my options. I had always planned to just keep mine until the 6th gens came out, because it seemed to be the best option. So I'm still probably going to do that, but I was mainly looking for others opinions, perhaps some who had been in the same situation.

It's a convertible.

I think you should at least keep it for a while. A 2-3 year old car is the best time to trade it in because it is still desirable and the initial hit you take once you drive it off the lot is so big.

Trading in a 2013 already? Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!!! I hope it works out for you, but expect to take a huge hit. The V6 is a good motor, but you can't expect it to perform like a V8.

Because its a 2LT RS CONVERTIBLE....... My 1LT non RS Convertible MSRP was $32K. So I can see one MSRP like his for $40K

Oh I forgot...

Try sell to private party then, modding a V6 and void the warranty will only make the situation worse.
Do keep in mind that you only pay the sales tax on the difference when you trade-in, so you need to make like $1000 extra on private party sales just to make it even
Or you can just trade for a 2011/2012 which won't make a difference since the warranty will be covered until Gen6

Don't sell it and don't mod it then sock all that money you were going to spend on it away and wait for a sixth Gen. That would be the smart move to me.

Did you win the lottery? how did your financial situation change in a few months? and your whole thread makes no sense to me.

Lets face it . You are not going to mod the car so that option is out.

My financial situation changed because my father died if you must know. So due to inheritance I have more flexibility. I could just go buy an SS outright if I wanted, but that's how people go broke. They don't pay attention to their spending habits, blow it all in a year, then go broke. I understand what you're saying, but it could be without the attitude. As for the whole doing the mods option, I have for the most part been against it, but I'm not 100 percent. If I plan to get the 6th gen in 2015 then I honestly might still keep the one I have and spruce it up. I'm not sure. My only reason I stated this thread was to get opinions from others who may have decided after purchasing an LT they wanted to move to an SS, or do some modding to increase their LT's performance.
