J pipes fixed my drone. Currently I'm only running one J pipe and that cuts just enough drone but still leaves some additional sound. With both J pipes on, all drone is gone and hiway cruising is very quiet.

If go with a single j pipe, where should it be located on the exhaust?

In front of the mufflers is where they get put most times. I don't know if it matters. But the length of the j pipe directly corresponds to the freq of the drone

How about an X pipe, or two resonators in the middle of the exhaust? Like how about two Dynomax bullets? You probably remember we had pretty bad drone with 4th gens too.

Is it an l99 if most likely its te afm. I have the solo axelback and it drones when the afm actuvates. I drive it in sport mode and usually I just blip the throttlre and it goes away. Its the only solution other than tuning it out

As many people have proven, you're not going to be able to run Flowmasters without some additional pipework in the form of j-pipes or Helmholtz chambers. That's a fact.

Disclaimer: To SOLO's defense, I probably have 30k miles on their catback which is daily driven and has maybe 12 dyno pulls. I've not asked them about a replacement resonator. I'm sure they will tell me that fiber does degrade and that is true. Someone mentioned that they were not able to kill the drone on the 3" system. There is more to the helmholtz resonator that just the length of pipe, so your assumption is correct about the diameter. SOLO's J pipes work on their system and have worked on others, but I think the others were also 2.5" dia.
