I wouldn't send any sold item w/o the entire amount in my paypal account.

I would only buy something that I felt comfortable sending the entire amount paypal using a credit card - never a debit or direct from the bank account.

When you're talking 'thousands' I wouldn't buy something like that w/o seeing the item first. But to some; 'thousands' to them is like 'hundreds' to me. Depends on the person.
