I don't see how removing it would throw a code. You can turn it on or off with a switch or a exhaust commander and it works great. I can't see how the stock exhaust left open all the time wouldn't be enough for anyone, especially if you choose to add headers later. I love my exhaust commander.

If you want good exhaust sound, put a set of long tube headers on!

I pulled the fuse and drove it around and it sounds just fine. No code thrown I'm happy for now! It does seem to burble a bit more when downshifting coming to a stop. I would love to use headers but here in So Cal it needs the CARB plate welded on it.

Unless this car had the dancing horses on a side emblem, I can't imagine it sounding better for a stock exhaust once the fuse is pulled or the valves are left open. GM did a great job.

Best advice I've heard yet on this exhaust system. I like it the way it is but a midpipe may be in my future.

No codes will be thrown. Also will make no difference at idle since the flap is open anyway. You will just notice the decel poping (burble) and a little drone on the highway. That's about it.

So in the picture it shows a big R2 fuse and a F8 fuse. Sharp ZL1 mentioned the F8 fuse . So just to clarify, we are to only pull the F8 fuse right? Sorry I just want to be sure. Thanks.
