ZL1 owners with aftermarket exhausts quick question?

I am thinking of adding an aftermarket exhaust to my 2013 ZL1. It sounds good when you are on the throttle but too quiet at idle and take off. I am going to use Zoomers since that exhaust gave me great sound and performance on my 2006 CTS-V. I got so many compliments about how nice it sounded like an "old school" muscle car!

My question is what is done with the vacuum lines from the existing stock unit that operate the butterfly valves? Do you have to plug them. Now that I have your attention any other suggestions you might have regarding exhausts?

Have you pulled the fuse for the active exhaust system ?? I did and my ride sounds awesome, IMO.

I have a Billy Boat, so I re-used the vacuum lines.

I personally love the stock exhaust noise from this car, but if you need more just do the fuse pull.

I'd do this if you haven't done so already. Stock to me sounds so beautiful....but I'll be doing the fuse pull today if I can figure out how.

In the trunk, passenger side wall under the carpet, you'll have to remove a couple of plugs and pins to pull back the carpet to get to fuse box, fuses are labeled.

Check out this and you'll get a good idea, very easy to do.

Sorry, I just want to be sure...Just pull out the "R2 Exh Flap" fuse and leave it out? And if I decide to put it back, just put the fuse back and it will go back to original without having to do anything else? Thanks a bunch guys.

I wanted the same answer as I am outside about to pull the F8 fuse out! I will have to wait and see of I get a check engine trigger.

That is one of the reasons I was switching over to the Zoomers system. Thanks for the suggestion we are on the same page.

I may need more than just "pulling the F8 fuse". The question was asked if removing it triggers a check engine code? Pretty easy access to the fuse box not hard just has to be done slowly and carefully.

From the people on here that have went with a complete aftermarket system the sound hasn't been too different from stock. I think one guy actually said his aftermarket was quieter than stock. To me the exhaust is one of the best things about the car.

I removed the fuse in mine the day after I picked her up in Oct. and I've yet to throw a code.
