I can certainly understand and respect the knee issue (really)...but I don't think you're giving the seats a fair shake. It almost sounds like you want big walls on either side of you with a 5-point harness and the whole shebang so there's 0 movement when you're cornering. That's a tall order...

EDIT: Fbodfather has a good point, though...and it's not pretending the vehicle is a Buick....

An estimated 70% of Camaro buyers (overall) are expected to be V6 buyers, right? I really can't imagine most V8 buyers cornering as we will/do...let alone and significant portion of V6 buyers. That means these people want comfort...and the ability to sit down without wedging around ginormous side bolsters...

If you didn't expect people to drive them aggressively in turns, why did you fit such an excellent suspension to the car? You could have saved time and money by fitting any old setup then. Chevrolet made a point to position this as a thoroughly modern, whole-package performance car. So why pretend it is a Buick when it comes to the seats? The 370Z, Mustang, Genesis Coupe, heck even the Challenger, which couldn't turn quickly if it was put on banked tracks, have sporty, bolstered seats. Now I don't expect full racing-ready Recaros on all models, but the Cobalt SS and CTS-V were given Recaros. So why put quasi-bench seats in the Camaro SS? Mazda put very aggressive Recaros in the RX-8 R3 model. Seats like that would go perfectly in the Mustang GT Track Pack fighting Z28 Chevrolet should be working on.

Edit: Fbodfather is right about denim being pure murder on leather and "leather" surfaces. If you wear it often, consider cloth or a seat cover.
I would agree with you that indeed the car is going to be driven agressively by lots of people. BUT - we also have to sell the car to a wider audience.

As I said earlier, if you sit in the car properly, I don't think you're going to have problems.

Let me ask the question to those who have taken delivery: how does the seat feel?

I think they feel great. I was very surprised by the level of comfort.

With my rather expansive bottom, this car is without a doubt the msot comfortable Camaro (or F Body) I have ever driven.

No issues here.

The seats are fine for me also. A huge difference between the leather Camaro seats and the leather HHR seats!

See, notice what everyone says about the seats: "comfortable". And yes, they are definitely that. I found them slightly lacking in thigh support, but that was it and it was a very minor issue, so no real gripes here on comfort, but comfort and support are not the same thing.

Dragon, true, what I really want is the Recaros in the RX-8 R3, which are really deep and really narrow. However, that is a special performance-oriented edition (of a performance car) so that is the bookend. They would be perfect in the Z28 that should be. The seats as is are fine for the V6, since that isn't necessarily bought with performance in mind anyway. I think for the SS it honestly is not at all too much to expect the same level of support as the Genesis Coupe, Mustang GT, Challenger, 370Z, CTS-V, 335 with sport package, and Cobalt SS. Buyers of these vehicles cover all the different types of Camaro buyers too. Instead, the Camaro seats offer no better support than the seats in my Cobalt LS, and that simply doesn't work in a performance car.

The whole car fits like a glove. But more importantly, the seats are sized right, the leather is NOT slippery! Also, all this talk about blinds sides, yes, it apears as if it is going to be like that, but it isn't. The Mirrors work wonders, and the rear window does allow for the quick over the shoulder glance...

They are the most comfortable seats I've been in - and I've been driving for 40 years. I'm 6'2" 180 lbs and the first day we picked up our car from out of state, we drove it 8 hours home. We did make stops (I typically stop only when I'm about on empty), but I could have driven another 8 hours. My wife has back problems and we were very concerned about her making the trip, especially since we bought the car sight unseen. She was amazed at how comfortable it was.
I'm sure there are probably more comfortable cars out there with more comfortable seats and all, but they exceeded our expectations.
We own a 'Vette and I would consider myself a somewhat agressive driver, particularly enjoying mountain roads around and thru the Bear Mountain region of NYS and up through northern VT.
I was not concerned with the amount of bolstering or support in my driving experience with the Camaro 2LT/RS.

(As a side note I as impressed with the overall ride, handling and quiet of the car. Amazing "compromises" without feeling compromised.)

I have never put down a towel nor will I, it's a car use it.
The issue was "leather seating surface" There was a time when another OEM was sued because they were uising vinyl on the seat backs. That ended the term "leather seats" and gave birth to "leather seating surface".

So no, GM is not taking leather from the seat, back or bolsters.

And I am bigger than you and I find the leather to be snug. The cloth is "roomier" for my wider back side. What the magazines want is Recaro Racing seats. That doesn't work for the majority of Americans.

So I think you will be fine, from the experience of my wide butt.

This is a no win issue here. If the seats were extra supportive you'd have people complaining they were uncomfortable, while if you have seats that resembled my current location (LayZboy Chair) you'd have people complaining they werent sporty enough. Fact of the mater is the SS is a Grand Touring car, thus it will come equiped as such. If you expected Recaro's you bought the wrong car, and even so I'd expect you can easily change out the seats to suit your needs.

A tick over 13.0 sec. and you're through the quarter-mile. It's a rush, of course, but not overly dramatic. Try the same thing with this pair's predecessors of 1970 or so and you'll find yourself in a bit of a wrestling match. Ain't progress wonderful? Maybe yes, and maybe sometimes it's fun to wrestle."
