The dealer is probably bankrupt. Get on the phone and work it. Don't let idiots ruin your experiance. There are enough good people on this, building this, designed this car.

I just delivered a Camaro last night that we had switched to us from a closed dealer. The Dealer sent him to me and we got our zone rep to switch it to us and it is done.

From what I have heard and read, the only way orders were getting canceled is if the dealer is in arrears to GM. They probably owe them a ton of money and you are just a hapless victim. That sucks, they should find a way of transferring orders to other local dealers. Sorry to hear what happened to you!

If the dealer got the wind down letter, they will only get Camaro's and other product that they had allocation for.

So, if your order is at 1100 and your dealer is getting no more allocation, your order will eventually get cancelled and cannot be diverted to another dealer.

If your order is already preferenced (2500 or above), the order can be diverted to another dealer.

If you want me to check your order number I will do that for you. But if it's still at 1100 and the dealer is out of allocation (probably), you need to reorder ASAP from another dealer.

Or find one on a lot. There are cars sitting on lots now. About 200 used on Autotrader and 2000 listed as new, as an example.

I have noticed with the recession it seems a lot of pre order financing is falling thru. Lending is tighter now than last year.

That is about a couple of days salary for the GM dumb asses in the "big pants" isn't it? It is no wonder GM is bankrupt and in the toilet. I love the car but WTF are they thinking..."we don't need anymore money because Obama will bring us our binky to suck on while we collect more bonuses" Needless to say I have written this about this experience about 30 times the last couple of days on sites all over the internet - not really a waste of my time now - what is 2 -3 more hours after 9 months. I have an order number but that doesn't matter to GM anymore i guess. What a joke GM has become...
Over..........Reaction.

Get the real facts before posting this all over the internet. Something isn't getting accurately described by someone. Your dealer is not giving the correct info or something. GM wants to SELL CARS.

He may be overreacting but he is being told the facts.

Dealer got the wind down letter and if he is at 1100, his order will eventually get cancelled. The dealer can't modify it and cannot order any new product as they are locked out of the consensus and allocation process.

GM wants to sell cars but not thru that dealer.

"then PM fbodfather or number 3". - what do you mean with this?
Here's one thread fbodfather posted in about the subject... http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...452#post580452

Check it out and even PM him for more info... I'm sure someone at GM will be sympathetic to your situation and work it out...

As per the Fbodfather:

"The dealer simply needs to discuss with his or her Zone Manager -- the allocation can be moved to another dealership so that you get your new Camaro! The Zone Manager simply needs to make the arrangements ...."

This is very simple. IF the dealer has allocation, the OP would get his car. However, if he is at 1100, his order will not be produced.

I know everyone is trying to help with opinions but the facts are the facts. Say goodbye to that order number.

I dont think GM would cancel the order. Sounds like your dealer is in the red and is trying to sell your car over MSRP.

Thanks for all the imput! I'm not over reacting - i have been waiting since OCT 2008 - it is just a huge let down. I was hoping to drive it this summer.

I ordered everything i could get, upgraded wheels & tires, GFX (painted) 2SS/RS, Sunroof, engine cover, tax etc... it is a huge investment for me (apprx 46,000.00 )

I went to my local dealer to buy my car- in our small town, trying to buy local.

From all your suggestions I made several calls yesturday and talked to the owner(dealer) here and he didn't shed much more light on the (his) situation but did give me the # for another dealer that supposedly had the same car I originally ordered on order with only the painted engine cover missing because it is "backordered" or out of stock at this time and the GFX package - but i will get them later it sounds like. But it will be August now before it is in "we" (my new dealer and i ) hope at the soonest. :(

So here we go again, Thanks for all the comments, this is a great site!
