shan1997, the insurance company issued them supplemental funds to do the work, I would contact them first and if that doesn't work contact an attorney. You should expect your car to look like it was before the accident and nothing less.

The final pic looks good, the first two pics show obvious rebuilding of the area of the corner of the bumper to make it loo more like it should until number three where they hit the mark, I do imagine its a pain in the butt to repair plastic but no way it should have taken that long, you just got stuck with a bad repair over and over because someone could not apply epoxy resin enough and sand well enough to shape your corner area. I imagine you got bumped up to thier master painter after they kept wasting your time and that of what ever young apprentice kept trying to pass off his work.............Or they just did not see it as a priority before until you became a thorn in their side............After the first repair I would have been so F in hot Because thats a bad joke............And you are just another car they are trying to rush out with the least amount of money spent.....well now after repairing it over and over to do it right.......not so cheap for them.......Dad always said: Any job worth doing is worth doing right...............

I felt the same thing. It was as if something hit the damaged side in the process of the paint drying or something. I really did get a bad deal. Hopefully I never get into another accident but now I know. Don't had they check over or sign it until repairs are done to my satisfaction. None of what happened should have ever occurred. I will not be returning to this same dealership again. The trust in quality work being done is out the window. At this point if they keep trying to repair what they messed up it will end up looking worse. Bottom line I paid too much money for my car to have them not do. Quality job. I guess it will never truly look like the other side...

shan1997....seriously take your photos to a reputable lawyer and sue them. You have all the evidence you need.

I'm sorry to hear about the repair troubles you went through!
When my Porsche was tagged at a traffic light with a Tahoe's tow hook, I took it to one of THE high-end body shops in Atlanta for repair. Three repair attempts including two meetings with the shop owner and it still wasn't right. I gave up. Fast forward one year to a grocery store parking lot. I returned after shopping to find the left front fender of my 997 caved in - probably due to someone attempting to drive into a space while pushing the cart forward with their vehicle... I took the Porsche to Jim Ellis' Body Shop, a dealer where I've purchased new Porsche's, a used BMW, and a new Chevrolet. I too was skeptical using the dealer's body shop, but received the highest quality body and paint work I've ever had. Click on "my garage" and see the left view of the car where they did the work. My point being just because you take your vehicle to the shop with the highest and best reputation doesn't doesn't mean you'll receive that level of work and that not all dealership body shops are poor choices. |

Really sorry to hear about your accident and we hope you are in good health following that unfortunate circumstance. Second, extremely sorry to hear about this situation with the dealership. Do you have a open case with GM Customer Service regarding this? If not, please send me a private message so I can start one for you. It is our priority to instill confidence in our customers, not take it away. I look forward to hearing from you! William R. Chevrolet Customer Care

Keep after them. Judging by the pics the repair would be unacceptable to me. If the patch work doesn't match or has a poor apearance, then I would demand a repaint of the bumper. You will need to be a little active with the dealer when it comes to repainting the bumper, because a lot of places do shortcuts by not putting in the flex additive.
Continue to press your case with the dealer if you are not satisfied; You probably should open a case with Chevy's customer service at this point. I had a similar situation with paint failure at the bumper, and Customer Service was a great aid in my case. Take that with a grain of salt, but do use all of the avenues available to make your repairs satisfactory.

@lbls1, do you think repainting the bumper would improve the looks? It looks like there is some sort of debris stuck in between the spaces

If these poor pics can capture the paint mismatch, I can't even imagine how bad it is in person.

I recommended to have the entire bumper repainted because with a dealership sponsored body shop, you don't have a control on the quality. A tricky repair done by a mediocre shop will make the bumper look worse, so a repaint may actually be a better alternative. The shop's work should be at least better than average quality (not easy to find, unfortunately as per my experience).

What a bunch of crap, someone else is responsible for damaging your car and you can't even get it fixed properly. I would be so pissed off! It's hard to fight an insurance company, it's their job to pay the least about of money and they are good at it because they do it every minute of every day.
Good luck, I feel your pain. ![]() Russ |

I'm going to take it back in and see if they are willing to make this right and if not i will definitely weigh my options. If they cannot or will not accommodate I will have to get other parties involved. I said i wanted a whole new bumper but the Shop manager explained to my uncle that a new bumper would cost 3-4,000 and the other parties insurance didn't pay for replacement of bumper only repair!?
@sloSS I will check out that body shop, may be an option @lbls1 what does opening a case with GM customer service consist of and how can they help, just curious how it works. |

Go to GM partshouse and look it up, then print it out and show them the actual cost you can buy it for.
