..it does not matter what intake you have on it.....it rattles like marbles in a can is the best description....AND, best of all, it's not a problem...it's normal.

I have rattling but I think its from my exhaust, I think. I plan to take her in, while I'm getting an oil change next week.

I didn't hear the squeezing in the video, but it surely will only get worse if the dealer says its normal on the first visit. If I purchase a other ZL1, I'll put a catch can on it within the first week. Especially if oil ingestion is causing the rotors to get off balance and is causing a besring to fail.
Hopefully the dealer will hear the noise and not give you the runaround. |

Isolator coupling wear!!
Here is a pic of the isolator coupling shaft at 3k miles, I'm glad I decided to changeover to the solid coupler and smaller pulley first rather than the crank pulley!! Just something for you others that are modding to be aware of!

This sounds like propaganda to peddle catch cans. Where did you hear this? Please reference your evidence or explain your reasoning. I believe that there are hundreds of thousands of supercharged cars, worldwide, that are functioning just fine without catch cans.

+1, and the Z has a factory catch can on the intake. I was told by a shop that mods. many zl1's that unless you are modding the heck out of your z it doesn't need a after market catch can. I would venture to say if GM thought it needed it, or it was causing them warranty issues they would of put one on their self. I'll take my chances. Has anyone ever had a mechanical failure or break down because the lack of. And has it caused a loss of performance? If so please provide the proof. Because opinions are like ***holes, everyone has one. |

from what we've been told, slight indentations in the shaft as shown in this picture are entirely normal and are designed to do just that. Excessive groving however is covered under warranty. |

I see. It just seems to me that seeing that much wear only at 3k miles is a bit in excess! Plus for those who are modding warranty is out the door!!

The wear on the shaft is normal per the design of the Eaton SC with the spring from the coupler. It doesn't seem like a logical design though.

So I took my car to the dealer yesterday so they could check out the noise and they told me it was normal. They said that there are no open recalls for the SC so they are just going to document it.
Should I just replace the isolator since that seems to be the main cause of the noise on these Superchargers? |

a certain amount of noise and groving is entirely normal, and it was designed that way on purpose. |
