I have a black locking cap on order from LMPerformance.com. And a V6 SIM on order form Terry Sligh Chevy in Oneonta! ![]() I would be particularly pleased if your installation instructions cover how to get the cover to sit flush. Sincerely, John (Bama_SIM_Cam).

I don't see what the big problem is with you all and your gap? Mine installed just fine*.
![]() *What a pain! There was no way I was going to leave it sticking out. I took the latch they provided, and I went to Ace Hardware. I bought a threaded nylon spacer, a matching bolt, washers, and I slid everything in. Since the spacer literally wedges in, with a little bottom support, it's not going anywhere! The result? A very clean appearance, inside and out, and a secure door - for $1.50 more. Works great now! The latch is still somewhat flimsy. As an engineer, I realized their shortcoming right quick. The door latch turns the wrong way. If it swung to point toward the back of the car, then the latch could be reversed, and any prying attempts would be in vain, as you can't pry hinge-side, and you cannot pry when the metal tab would be working against you. The little tab would have no room to bend. So, looking inward, the door lock currently points toward the front of the car, and the latch "hook" points to the rear. My mental redesign makes the latch "hook" point toward the front of the car, and the door lock point to the rear. I do intend on flipping it soon, so that my door is truly secure. |

I snipped the green part at the groove because it is too long and then bent the whole clip inward and down. My cover closes perfectly flush after that and looks great. Can post pics tomorrow if needed. I think they poorly designed this lock system and would give Defenderworkx an "F" for this. Cap itself is "A+". Good luck.
