The throttle body is the part connected to the intake manifold. So the air flow start at the CAI, then goes through the throttle body into the intake manifold. The larger throttle body allows more air and less air restriction.

Here is a thread on it http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=183257

You are able to do any modifications you want to your car, as long as it was not the direct reason for the cause of failure. For example if your rear diff goes, they can't go "Well because of your CAI it caused the failure". Now say you engine ceases due to water pulled in by the intake (highly unlikely) then yes you will have no warranty coverage.

I have yet to find a dealer that has given me issues on modified cars. I had a 2007 Cobalt SS S/C that was highly modified and never had one single issue with warranty.

Plus I think if you go in kicking and screaming to the dealer about a problem they will be looking with a fine tooth comb at your mods and if they could have caused the problem. If you go in with a good attitude and relaxed, there should never be a problem.
