Remote start ftw. My wife is in military and she was stationed in Boston for four years. During winter it is the best feature a car can have lol. Happy to be in California now for the weather alone

I got an automatic so my wife could drive my car and didn't buy a SS because I purchased a new Cruz LTZ fully loaded just a year ago. Anyone else get the wtf auto and V6 treatment and how do you handle it?
I always ask them what engine then have in their Camaro. Usually there isnt a good answer unless they have a SS.

Ive never had any negative comments towards being a v6 or auto...more people actually say i was smart to get the lower end model since i use it as my daily....saved money and looks just as cool...seeing as a lot of people dont know the subtle differences in front fascia between v6 and v8...lol

Why did I get a V6 is the only one I hear. I pick one of these:

1. Why bother? This is modded to 350HP
2. SS is a police/ticket magnet
3. My other ride is your mom and she's fast enough for me.

Why did you get a V6

My answer: "Because I wanted it"

Oh I would be happy with a V8 and would take one in a heartbeat but the V6 suits my lifestyle right now. It is part of the family now and I would have a hard time trading.

1- So your car is FI'd?
2- How in the world is that?
3- Isn't this actually insulting the V6?
4- The Jets suck!

Yeah I get the V6 comment a lot. It annoys me even more because the LFX makes more horsepower than the V8 on the last gen Camaros. I usually point that out too, but most of the time I just get blank stares followed by "yeah but it's still a six".

It has also been called a chick car since it is a V6 and convertible. I got a stick instead of an automatic it part to keep some of the comments at bay, but I guess it shouldn't bother me. Everybody has an opinion and for some reason when you own a Camaro everyone feels they need to share it with you! I owned a V6 Aurora for many years and nobody ever made a comment about that not having the V8.

It is usually people who have nothing but family haulers or POS cars that feel the need to point it out too.

Wow.. there you go... community has spoken... bottom line you should be very proud of your car, it is Camaro after all!!!

I mean why V6 not V8 why only 323Hp and not 450 or ZL1 500+ or Hennessy 700+.. well people buy what they need and they want (what they can afford) your choice is yours alone, if someone has money and prefers to buy something else, and can afford it thats fine, but no judgment should be placed...

10/10 times, the people that are asking those questions, have no clue what they are talking about. probably think the Camaro has a hemi in it.

My daily driver is an '87 Fiero GT. That allows me to garage my '13 ZL1 and my '08 GT500. Back in the late seventies I had a '69 Caprice beater and seldom drove my '76 Trans Am or my '64 'vette coupe (wish I still had that 'vette). Who cares what other people think of your car?

There is very little visual difference between a gen5 Camaro SS and a gen5 LT, especially if the LT has the RS package that gives it the 20" wheels similar to the SS wheels. And you can get the optional rally stripes on an LT or SS. With the LT/RS you have virtually all the looks (with no mail slot and smaller front grille) at much lower cost to purchase and operate. As long as you're not obsessed with having a V8 musclcar, the V6 Camaro is a terrific car.
