You should be changing all the fluids /oil at 1500-2000 miles anyways!
Put all synthetic fluids in, oil, transmission, differential..
The break in period is over at that time and you should get all those metal shavings out of there...

I did the first change at 1600 miles using Valvoline full synthetic and an OEM filter.

According to Chevrolet the only oil made for this car is Dexos.
