I think 3.73's would slow me down. Now if I was a turbo car maybe that makes sense to get going.
Here is the thing though, if you are going to run any faster than your car is going right now then you are going to flirt with that shift to 5th even sooner. I know everyone says 4 gears are optimal for the quarter but unless you start running custom gear ratios for say gears 3 and 4 in the auto, it is always going to flirt with that shift. My opinion is to embrace it, let the car accelerate even faster in gears 1 through 4 and then use what you can for 5th. I did the calculations and your car would go 160 mph in 5th with the manual rear gears. Just a quick glance at the unlimited mod Camaro fast list shows cars with times of 9.2 to 8.7 with the mph in the high 150's. I think you need that 5th gear because you will probably be getting close to 160 mph passes whenever everything comes together. The time it takes to make a shift can easily be made up by the improved acceleration of fully using another gear. That's my opinion, you are already finishing at a shift point so back it up and use one more gear instead of trying to hang out there at the end of 4th, just blow through 4th sooner and see how deep into 5th you can go. Surely you have got to realize the 20 more mph is not that much...lol. My opinion...it is there if you want it.

Andy txt me this morning & said he had a manual differential for me, I started laughing at your post a few hrs ago because I'm sure he was talking about yours now. He's the only one that has seen my time slips & your thinking exactly what I'm thinking, I knew I liked something about you Jess!

Hey, I may not have the wheel time on the 1/4 mile but I'm pretty good with calculations, I know the 3 of us have the power to make low 9's if we can get it all together..... Just trying to help....

I wasn't thinking outside the box. Using 5th creates some crazy numbers.
157mph at 6000
170 at 6500

If i would not of bought mylftft's old ss i would be all over the 3.73 rear for my old ss's upgrade. But my 15 inch brake kit is first. Then wheels and tires. Then ZL1 swap. Im a believer in gears if you can hook it.
