I believe this is true. I just ordered a 2SS LE1 with RS, dual mode performance exhaust and Recaro seats. MSRP was $45,880. I was out the door at only $42,600.

That's the dual mode exhaust. Where did you order your car?

Make sure you have it in writing the agreed upon price of the car and be prepared to get bombarded with additional warranties (e.g. Tires - which is a good deal), extended service contracts etc., when the car comes in and if you do manage to get financing before the car comes in and you're happy with the rate, the Finance guy will ask if he could try to meet or beat that rate. That means he will hit all his available resources for request for financing and you will get a bunch of inquiries on your Credit Report. This will have a slight negative impact on it, but it should bounce back. You can avoid this by going to one source for financing...I would go the CU route if I were you and there are discount incentives also going this route. You can qualify for GMPP pricing with the right CU.

I have about 3 weeks to go before I make an order for a 2ss 1LE. So far everything is going good with finances, job, etc. That being said I am part of a credit union and I was hoping to go through them, however 2 things concern me.
1.) my credit score, while still trying to improve is hovering around 650, not great. I'm not sure if they will go for that, I'll have about 30-40% to put down. Income is no problem. 2.) With ordering, will the dealership (more than likely Rick Hendrick) tell me up front the final out the door cost and will incentives be included if they offer them at the time of ordering? I'm sure I'll find out either way. I was thinking about printing out some prices from other dealerships and tell them that I want to be within these prices, I've seen new 2ss 1LE's w/NPP go for as low as 39,087.00 deff with incentives included I'm assuming. (Lindsay Chevrolet) Not sure how that will work, but figured I would try. I'm pretty nervous b/c it's a few weeks away, and I've been waiting and working for so long toward this, just don''t want anything gay to happen. ha. Thanks for all the input ! |

Even though you are planning on ordering your car within the next month or so there are still things you can do right now to improve your credit score. I posted this information for another member asking about credit previously so here is the link. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showpo...4&postcount=30 Get your free credit reports and make sure there are no mistakes on it. Fixing those mistakes can have a huge impact on your score. In addition you can pay off and close old accounts that are in collections that will also help immediately. (if you have any) Credit Unions are a great place to go for loans they have great rates if you can qualify for them. I was able to get 1.99% through my insurance company, USAA. If you have them look into their financing options, they have some great offers. If you are going to shop around for a loan though do it all at once. Conduct all credit inquires within a few days. As Bad@ssCamaro mentioned this will create a bunch of credit inquires that will bring down your score a slight amount, but if you do them all within a few day period it will only count as 1 inquiry.
On question 2 here is how I located the dealer I ordered from. I got a list of all of the Chevy dealers within 50 miles of me and called all of them and asked to speak to their internet sales or fleet sales manager. It’s important that you actually speak to them directly over the phone so they know you are a serious buyer and I 100% guarantee they will take you seriously if you do it this way. After I spoke to them I let them know I WAS going to order a car within the next week and I wanted to get a quote from them and that I was going to order from the dealer with the lowest price. I then emailed them my specifications in a PDF file and they all either emailed me back or called me back with and itemized out the door price. I received a quote from every dealership within 24 hours via email. By doing it this way I didn’t set foot into a single dealership until I knew what I was going to pay and I spent 20 minutes there when we ordered the car and then a couple hours when I came to pick it up, none of that time was spent haggling or discussing price. I ended up getting mine for $700 under invoice in October, there were no incentives on the 2014’s at that time. When the car arrived the OTD price didn’t match I asked them why and they removed the extra $80. It turned out to be a document fee that the sales manager didn’t include in my original OTD quote so I didn’t end up paying it. They didn’t even bat an eye and if they did I still had all of my documentation and correspondence printed out and I brought it with me when I went to pick up the car. Get their OTD price quote in writing when you agree to the deal with the sales person or when they order the car for you. The incentives you will be eligible for will be what is available when the car arrives. And just a comment on the ordering of the car, this is definitely the way to go. I have always had used cars so my 2014 this was my first new car ever. Since the 2014’s were just starting to hit the dealerships when I wanted to buy I had to order mine since there was no way anyone was going to have exactly what I wanted. After the experience of ordering the car I think this is what I will do with every car I ever purchase new. I gave all of my special instructions to the sales manager and they followed everything to the letter. I asked them not to do dealer prep on the car as I did not want them to put a bunch of scratches or swirls in the paint and I didn’t want them to drill holes in the front bumper to install the front license bracket. (front plate is required in California) They didn’t even gas it up as I didn’t want everyone driving it around, they just gave me a gas voucher and I drove it down to the gas station they use and filled her up with premium in the tank right off the bat. Ordering is definitely the way to go! |

Order it! I got my 2SS with NPP, Nav, and Recaros for Invoice minus holdback plus dealer fee which came to just over $42k. After using a private offer and my GM card I was at $40k.
Check PenFed for car loans. I have never ever ever found any place in the world with better rates. There may be someplace that does but I have not heard of it, maybe USAA has great rates as well. As Egon noted, go get your own gas or go with them. I went and they tried to put in 87 octane so I was happy I went so I could stop him.

Remeber one thing about advertised prices they include every possible rebate out there and alot will tack on the freight plus another few hundred for prep. Some deals just sound to good to be true as I found out when wasting time driving all over I just ended up ordering what I wanted and got a fair price.
