Last pic is before drilling the two holes in the bumper bar. One thing I didn't know is the bumper bar is not one flat piece on the backside. It's like a block style capital 'U' and what faces the front is the car is the bottom of the 'U' shape. It makes the placement of the two holes you have to drill in it another measurement you have to work with to get the tow hook not to interfere with the plastic grill grid.

SSTG did you install the hook yet?

I am curious of your thoughts as well....
Doesn't seem like it sticks out far enough - like they do on the 2013's

Also looks crazy intimidating to take the whole front fascia off

I have not. I'm getting ready to order the Heritage grill. Since I have to take the bumper off this might be a good time. I'm just not 100% sure on it.

Does anyone else make a tow hook?

Taking off the front fascia is seriously easy. I was nervous at first but i've had it off 4 times already.

Is the tow hook thing a requirement out west for on track use or is it a style statement? When I raced I know it was a required element, but I've never seen a HPDE requirement for it in over 20 years and countless clucbs. All my tracks are in the east, if you need a tow in, why not just put the OEM hook in place for that tow? Do you also have one in the rear? That is a race requirement as well. Just curious. 1st time you zing your chin one one you'll hate them!

Great info mySSt and thanks for sharing. There are other tow hooks out there but I can't recall where I've seen it in the 100's of websites we see on car stuff. Great feature to have so you don't have to cobble something together AFTER you need assistance at a race. The thought of adding more damage because I need a tow just makes by stomach turn so it's something everyone tracking their car should have. Both front and back. IMHO...

It's purely cosmetic for me. That's why I'm not 100% on it.

There is no OEM hook on the Camaro 2010-2013 except in Europe....Not sure if they added it for 2014??

First time they pull your car out of the sand or off track by the front or rear sub frame you would love to have one!

Makes sense if there are beaches, but you need one on both ends if you go straight in. I'll check to see if there is a OEM hook on the 2014. I assumed and you know where that leads you

Is this the same part as the one mentioned by the OP?

http://www.jdpmotorsports.com/manufa...hook-jdpse1002

I am also thinking about this one for the rear...

It looks like the Z/28's fits nicely in the tow hook location In the grill.
Anyone know where to find a part number??
