Anyone know if this will work on a 2014 1LE?
I'd like to put one on my Black 1LE. I don't even care if it is useable as I will never race the car. I just like the looks of them.
Does anyone know if they are mountable? Thanks! http://www.torqspeedlab.com/store/ch...equipment.html |

there is someone in the 1le section who had those on his car and he actually tracks it.
toss in the question in there he or someone will perk up and let you know.

Don't know if anyone has proven that it will work with the 14. Look around some more as there are other options. Check with JDP too.

No I don't. Missed it being for a 14'. But I looked at a couple pics of 14 front end and I don't see why not. They're adjustable to where you mount them.

Yep, installed one on my '14 1LE a couple of weeks ago. Don't have any pics 'cause the car is put up in a garage right now. Put mine on the driver side by bolting the upright section of the hook BEHIND the bumper bar. Almost all of the 2" hole extends out thru the middle opening in the bottom grill. Tricky part is to measure over and over to get the hook to extend thru the grill without hitting the plastic grid of the grill while the 2 bolt holes you have to drill are in the 'meat' of the metal bumper bar. If you want to bolt the upright section on the front side of the bumper bar, the tow hook extends out too far in front of the grill in my opinion. If you are looking from the front of the car, the hook is about half way from the center line of the hood and the right side of the grill (if you look at the plastic behind your '14 bottom grill, you will see you can't really mount the hook any closer to the tire side of the grill. Hope this helps!

A few questions if you will? Please post pics when you get a chance. I know there are a lot of us wanting to see/do this. Does the bumper cover need to come off to do this? Finally, how was the quality of the Tow Hook and would you buy from Torq again? Thanks again! |

Yes, you have to remove the front fascia. It may seem intimidating to do, but it's not difficult and there are several threads on heritage grill upgrades which show you how to remove it.
L shaped bracket is heavy duty and I would buy from Torq again. Other vendors carry their stuff too (JDP?). I ordered mine as one for an '11 SS (think there is only one size bracket for all our 5th gen model years), so I could put it on the '11 SS if I couldn't get it to work on the '14 1LE. I did use a bigger washer on the bolts (hardened steel washer) just because the washers supplied by Torq looked too small to sufficiently distribute the force of the bolt head at the bumper. I got it in black because I didn't want it to show so much and figure I'll just wrap the tow circle end in painter's tape and then red duct tape for track days (so it will stand out for the safety trucks if needed). I'll try to upload a few pics.
