If the ambient temperature is above 50°, the AC needs to be on.
Above 50 degrees, the top goes down.

One other thing that contributes to the hot air issue is that there is no seal along the rear edge of the hood. This allows the hot air to escape directly over the HVAC intake vents in front of the windshield.

pretty sure the reason for the fan is to have the air pressure close the blend door..

once this is done you won't feel any air coming thru from the outside (so basically like recirc mode) the difference to me is that the system is fully off and closed, with recirc mode the system isn't technically off and I know on cold days my windows just above the defrosters will fog up when only in recirc mode, but they do not do that with this method.

here's the video:

Okay, but don't do that three times in a row. You could get total protonic reversal.

There is a big fat rubber seal along the cowl from the factory on my zl1 so im not sure where you came up with this info as its totally wrong

This is one of the things I love most about the car, GM DON'T CHANGE IT.

if you just put the control on re-circ and leave the temp on cold you get no air. On the ford it shuts it right off, but then when I want some air, either hot or cold I have to turn the blower on low and its too much airflow on the highway. With the Camaro I leave the fan off, I don't put the recirc button on and I get a nice little flow of air.

Maybe I'm different but I really like it

Sorry...but the youtube process above does not completely stop the airflow on my ZL1. Tried it several times.
