I took mine off and painted them with a black car that was getting painted at my shop, my second choice was to do vinyl but pepboys only had carbon fiber vinyl.

Black vinyl at a hobby shop....did this today and turned out WONDERFUL.

Best thing is I have enough vinyl left over to replace as quickly as the sun fades it. Super easy.

As far as quality...the result will be indicative of your patience and effort. the rear is super easy...the front is more of a challenge to ensure you don't get any creases.

And please...for your own sake...don't pull off the emblem to do it...I took the front one off and spend more time getting it off than I did getting the vinyl on.

I found the material at Michaels...it's the stuff that is used in the 'cricket' craft machine...surprisingly good quality. I cut out a square an put it over the entire emblem and then trimmed precisely to fit...much easier I would imagine than trying to fit a precut decal. My brother was joking that I should 'sell' the stuff for $10 for to pieces for the front and rear...but for my brethren I will simply direct you to where you can get the vinyl on your own...in many colors...

good job man. after all the work it took me to get the bowtie off the car and painting and supplies. it would have been worth cutting out a vinyl cover.
