Yeah, but as accurate as that may be - and absolutely no offense to him - that's not coming from GM.

Here's my theory: It will take a decent amount of time and money to configure the manual with the AFM system. Which is why they didn't really bother to spend those resources to do it with either the Trucks, or the G8. I don't think enough people buy manuals to justify it. But this is the Camaro we're talking about. And since GM hasn't come out and said "Look we don't want to take the time/money to make the manual and AFM work together"...I think they ARE working on it.

I guess what I'm trying to say is I don't think they'll let us down. as far as AFM V8/manual transmission is concerned.

Well, thats really what I am hoping.. because I was planning on this being the first Manual car I would own...

BTW, what kind of gas mileage are we looking at with AFM... (AFM isnt like DOD, right?)

It's pretty much the same thing. i.e. shutting down cyllinders. GM quotes savings of 8%. But in reality it's more.

What does AFM have to do with it? The LS3 in the GXP will have AFM and it will also have a 6 speed manual option.

The Caddy 3.6 DI can be had with a manual tranny. No worries there.

Efficiency gains for AFM are extremely sensitive to driving style. Take it nice and easy, and you'll see great gains. Push it a little, and they'll disappear.

Accroding to the Wiki on GM engines. both the L92 and LS3 have the parts for AFM. as yet it hasn't been enabled on the LS3.

well . . .
He says nothing and by saying nothing or not, not saying anything does not imply that what you say is true or not true. That should clear up the confusion
