Use clear silicone to glue it back. It is water resistant and will be on there good. Put a good amount and whatever gets squeezed out when you install the strip, you wipe off. Use masking tape to hold the strip until the silicone is fully cured. You MUST let it fully cure. When I built my Factory Five Roadster (in the pic), this is what I used on all the weatherstripping, emblems, gaps, etc. Any local parts store has it. It comes in a tube.
