Even if it's a legally registered firearm, you crossed state lines and that is a big no-no (unless your hubby is a LEO)

Sounds like you live in the middle of a warzone or something? why the need for a gun right there on your lap at a gas station stop? is it that bad in your neighborhood? I don't think a trip to the gas station merits a loaded gun sitting on your lap really I can't make any sense of it.

BTW, something to think about if you're ever driving in AZ and prefer not to be shot at, never flip anyone off. Lot's of hot pissed off people with guns out there. Would happen from time to time. |

Sign up and take the concealed carry course and do it legally or do not carry a pistol at all. A dent is in the new Camaro has not put you in fear of your life.
Please tell me you were kidding!!

I'm glad I don't live in arkansas. it's scary to know someone nervous sitting next to you at a gas station has a loaded gun in their lap like they are in the middle of iraq. is it really that bad out there?

People... these are basic laws and if you own and carry, you should learn what is and is not legal. There are waaaaay too many uninformed people these days and it makes for easy pickens for those that would hinder our RIGHTS as Americans.

![]() I agree!!! Its a freakin car people. For you to grab the gun when it happened makes me believe you are a little crazy. What happens if one of your kids accidently swipes the side of your car with their bike. You gonna shoot them?

You're slightly mistaken. Having lived and worked as a law enforcement officer in AZ, I can tell you that leaving a pistol uncontrolled, out of reach and in plain view on the seat of a car is a lot worse than placing in on the floor with a towel over it. The spirit of the concealment law in AZ is to enforce restrictions against those intent on commiting crimes. Safgeguarding her pistol and talking to the person who damaged her car was the right thing to do in this scenario.

That's some bad info there.... Not all States recognize permits of other States.... And your rights are only guaranteed on a federal level, States have the right to invoke their own laws. That's why some States have much stricter laws than others....And have the right to ban things on a State and local level.

I would suggest in the future that the firearm is kept in a holster with a retention snap and placed beside you in between the seat and arm rest. This way it is a three step process and you will be less likely to act on impulse.
