Mine are JBA because I got a good deal. A lot of people like Solo, but I think they are more expensive (and someone said JBA makes the Solo HF cats?). If you drive at tracks with noise limits, you may want to think twice, or get a mod that let's you keep the NPP baffles closed always when you want to.

Exactly what I meant by slippery slope. It's start with headers and end up being a full N/A build in no time

Matt I would also suggest Solo cats. More $$, but less likely to throw cels. To add to this ARH shorties may be the best shorty cats, but are a little pricey. I think with both together and a ported TB you can be pretty close to long tubes. But some will disagree.

You already have a CAI? If not then add that too. I don't think you can add a scoop which also adds more power to some CAIs as your brakes ducts are using this spot. But for your purposes those are more important than 5 extra RWHP.

You will definitely feel the above mods, need no tune, and shed some weight. Your exhaust sound will be louder and a bit more raspy, but some like that.

One other option, go ahead and add LTs, shorty cats and rear O2 spacers, but skip the tune. You will get the occasional CELs but just turn them off. No big deal. Warranty preserved. With a CAI, scoop, Ported TB, LTs and shorty cats and no tune I dynoed 422 RWHP. I ran 12.3 with this setup (Z/28 territory!), but you could do better.

There also are Kooks Green LT cats that are not supposed to get CELs. But they are expensive and may not always live up to their billing.

Here is how I added more sound. Quite a bit more while driving. Sorry for the crappy sound quality of my phone. Nice part is when I get tired of it (not often) I can run regular NPP.

I have a 1LE with NPP and already pulled the fuse but I still want it a little louder. Suggestions? Which headers work best? Anyone know of a shop in Cleveland, OH area for install? thanks.

May want to consider what I have. Hedman shortys, Solo HF Cats, CAI and QTP remote controlled cutouts that can be opened incrementally. I also have a Dashlogic unit so I can run the NPP stock, always open or always closed. With cutouts closed and NPP closed (very nice and good for the neighborhood and LE); with NPP open (yea buddy pure muscle sound almost sounds cammed); with NPP open and cutouts open ...pure badass and at WOT I've had people say it scary Oh yea none of this voids the warranty.

A 'lil louder???

Fuse pull, headers, no cats will be loud.
Fuse in, headers, no cats, a lil louder at partial throttle, almost like a kitten tiger purring, BUT at WOT, same loud as fuse pull above. Almost a Jekyll and Hyde setup literally. Conclusion with this setup. Need mild to wild switch.

According to your title question, most likely, a fuse pull with high flow cats and nothing else would fit the bill nicely.

What combination would keep me within smog limits?
I know LT's with cat delete will obviously not work but what about LT's with Hi-flo cats? Or do I have to do Shorties with Hi-flo cats to stay emissions legal?

Reason I ask is I have two other cars that have neither cats nor mufflers and they are a pain as it is with emissions, I would like to at least have one car that doesn't have to be a problem with emissions.

I was just going to ask about this- so how long were you able to go in between the cel coming on? Did it affect drivability? How long did you run that setup?

Curious, you prefer fuse in or fuse out?
Same setup here, need a mild to wild switch ASAP.
