If that's the way it is , there have to be an explanation / reason for that
Things don't just happen to be the way they are , there is reason why

The reason is, it's normal no explanation needed just drive the car.

I was over looking my ZL1 and something looks off, is the shock towers suppose to be this far from the body?

It's not an issue. It's the way the car is designed.I would have to assume that it has to do with isolating sound or to avoid rubbing. Either way it is how the car is made.
