You're learning the right way.

Tried to teach my daughter to drive a stick a few years ago. I thought she was going to kill us both. Tried for several weeks. Finally had to trade the car in for an auto. Just didn't think she was safe enough with it to keep from hurting someone. Boy, she sure does wish she had stuck with it now. It is killing her that she can't drive the Camaro.

That poor transmission and clutch!

Be careful. Don't be stupid. You want to make to 25 someday.

I learned how to drive stick in a friend's '80-something Corolla. Pretty much knew how to do it. Just needed to practice for a few minutes and get used to taking off on hills. I'm glad my first car wasn't fast because I did alot of learning and totalled alot of stuff with it.

I learned to drive stick on a Saturday night at 2am in the morning. Why? My friend was drunk, and we took his car. I only stalled 2 times, woo hoo.

I guess 'Dad' had more to worry about than telling you to watch your language.

That is sooooooo freakin cool. Yo have a video of learning how to drive a stick AND btw, It's a new Camaro. That motor sounded awesome. When I learned it sounded like I was driving a weedeater with a clutch.

I drove stick for the first time in my dad's 1977 Corvette. It was 15 years old at the time, and i was 21. I don't think i even stalled it, but never really cared for stick anyway.

My dad tried to teach me in a 80 something Isuzu truck. However after I got married my husband had a 78 full size Bronco, we lived out in BFE and I got bored one afternoon told his younger brother to hop in the truck we were gonna learn to drive it right then. Well many stalls later and a few grinded gears I could drive it. We have owned one other MT and it was a truck I didn't drive. So I can honestly say this is my first MT. Bad thing is I haven't drove one in over 6 years but it came back to me real quick!
