C'mon Tag...we know that speeding is speeding...but some of those areas where the speed limit drops 10 miles for a block is pretty lame. Especially when the sign is barely noticeable. That's not the police's fault, but...

To the OP:

I know what you're saying man. I've got like 4 tickets on deferred right now just this year (although I haven't gotten a ticket in like 5 years prior).

(1) Going 40 in a 35 with my entire family in the truck on a sunday evening to include my dogs in the kennels in the back (which actually means 49 in a 35 to the Universal City police).

(2) 50 in a 40 in Converse in the middle of the night while looking for donuts is apparently endangering the public safety as well (It drops from 50 to 40 for a couple blocks and then back up to 50). Hell you'd think since we were looking for donuts the cop would at least point us in the right direction! But we just got the ticket and no directions :(

(3) and (4) I didn't know that you're supposed to slam on the brakes to 45 immediately from the 70 when exiting off the highway. Even though everyone behind me is on my ass and NOT slowing down either. I usually always gradually slow down.

So I feel your pain my man...I feel your pain.

SOOOOOO.....who wants to take me for a spirited ride in their 2SS so I can get a taste of the good life?!

Hit 100 every day - cant help it.

50MPH on Blanco where Skooter got tagged is not reckless, but, speeding nonetheless.

Was it a Motorcycle Officer? One of my customers is a motorcycle officer and he patrols that area late night.

And 281 is no place to do any speeding, especially north of 1604. That traffic nightmare is always a pain in the rear no matter what time it is. Maybe once the toll road gets built

But trust me, not speeding in these cars is a tough task for anyone, even SAPD officers <cough> Doug <cough>

Nah, it was a squad car hiding behind the orange construction barrels right after it goes from 2 lanes to 1 heading northbound on Blanco.

I'll go find the ticket and let everyone know the officer's first initial and last name

j/k

Not speeding is very hard in this car...i had to set my speed warning (once i found the feature) to remind me when i go over 85 lol....you just feel like your cruisin along and its not fast at all....amazing

i got hit up by the cops in my apartment complex the other day. I was just sitting in it with my stereo on and the neighbors called in a noise complaint!!! the cop was a former marine (as am I) and he loved the car so he let me off....but a noise complaint at 8pm?!?! christ...they must not like SOAD music!

You may be lucky; In Dallas, fines are doubled in construction zones!

Only when workers are present

I got the little post card back from the court. 120 days of deferred disposition. No defensive driving required. Woohoo

Just a little FYI ...

...and this is pretty much for EVERYONE...

if you get a ticket in your hometown, always try to ask for probation. If you get a ticket in a county that you do NOT live in, they won't give you probation. Why? Because, there is ZERO chance you will screw up and end up paying BOTH fines. But, you'll still have your defensive driving in your back pocket as your ace in the hole. Always, ALWAYS, try probation first. Now, if you have not gotten a ticket in 3 years...and that defensive driving is going to expire from your insurance, guess you got to go and take it....

I hadn't had a ticket in almost exactly 4 years. We save letters on our family computer that we've had to write for official things and the last time I wrote a letter to any court was back in 2005, almost to the day

It's kind of funny, but apparently counties don't talk to each other when it comes to tickets. So if you're on probation in County A and get a ticket in County B, the second ticket won't hurt your probation in County A, and you can probably get probation in County B while you're at it.

At least, that's my understanding of the system. I don't know if it would work if, say, you get a ticket in San Antonio, and then get another ticket in Bexar County but outside the San Antonio city limits. I've never tested that theory
