Hi guys, changed the wheels on my car for some aftermarket ones.... Anyone know what I need to do to sort the 'flat tyre' warning out? Do I need to change the sensors from my old wheels to the new ones? Then do I need a tool? Then do I do the relearn thing? Thanks in advance

The old sensors are uniquely programmed to your car, so the car doesn't recognise the new sensors. You can either swap the sensors if you know which was for which corner or get a relearn tool. We're potentially meeting up in December and you can borrow mine then if you like.

Thanks Pete. Are the sensors in the caps? Or inside the tyre/wheel somewhere?

Hz Frequencies of tyre sensor are not the same in UE and US cars.

tyre pressure sensor

In the inside rim inline with valve
Tyre removal needed

Jason also has a relearn tool
And my old UK sensors

I put 2013 UK Camaro 20" rims on my 2010 USA CAMARO
bought a new set of USA sensors w USA MHz from USA for about £100 all in.
Swapped over
Relearn tool
No probs

Don't think they are in any way serialised to your car! :-)

Letting the air out to relearn DOES NOT WORK FYI

This is what the sensor looks like on my spare wheels:

I don't mind posting the tool to you and then you can send it back when you're finished.

Thanks John that's very kind of you to offer. Problem is the new wheels came with the tyres already fitted, so it would mean removing the wheels, and tyres, then installing the sensors (if possible) after removing the tyres from the old wheels.... I'm sure I'll do it at some point, just not a job for now I think. Thanks for the kind offer though, much appreciated
