I liked the line, "It has Brembo brand brakes, a treatment normally reserved for very high-performance models...". So I guess the Cobalt SS is a "very high-performance model" now? :P

No kidding; for a four-banger, it gets it

Even though I make fun of all the speculation these rags' put out there, I guess I don't add much better. I still like the fact that we may be getting Brembos though, because the OEM brakes on my '02 suck hard

They need to stop publishing this nonsense. There is no legitimate evidence of an engine with 550 hp. I'd love to see it happen, but I'll wait for GM to suggest that another V8 trim will exist within the first year. So far no such evidence exists.

The LSA doesn't count?

but it isn't validated, yet...I think.

I thought the Cobalt was getting a 550 hp engine. I mean it does have Brembos so it must right?

No kidding; that's the mentality I feel the rags' are coming across with sometimes. I guess, since it's been allegedy that GM was working on something like four or five supercharged 6.2s that entertaining the idea that Camaro is getting one makes some sense. I'd sure hope for power around LSA area though, although the alleged LS8 at around 500 wouldn't be too bad either. I think GM should just make it simpler and produce LS9s and LSAs (mostly so we can get 550 horse .)

OH WELL! I guess we'll have to wait several more months until we really know...

I think we can all agree the article was a bit dated with its info and purely speculative with the rest.

I still think that rumors need citations to be legitimate. Maybe KU has rammed the whole MLA format or anti-plagiarism thing too far down my throat, but I still believe that conjecture is not enough to believe. There are some traditions with the Camaro that I expect in the next generation, like being second to the Corvette, featuring a V8 and a V6, and competing with the Mustang and Charger. Some of these are substantiated and other traditions are not. An engine is just speculation. What would we all say when neither the L76 nor the LS3 make the Camaro? Who will get to say, "I told you so," because they were right about the car? To date, we only have rumors of the engine lineup of a potential Supermaro, but we don't have any proof that GM will initially sponsor a ridiculously powerful 500+ hp Camaro. I need validation from GM or an insider. I don't care what these magazines say or what our logical deductions say. I hope the Camaro has a 550 hp monster from the factory, but currently no hard evidence exists. No one has claimed to witness a supercharged mule or heard a blower. No one has seen the engine. There is no evidence, so why are we leaning so hard on pure speculation to explain what clearly does not yet exist?

Yeah—why do they act like this is a surprise? The Camaro has always held its own against top tier cars.

There was a post somewhere, that appeared on here, a while back where there was what was thought to be the sound of a blower whine, but I still agree that there is not confirmation on anything yet.

I just like posting up information on what is out there, in cars that are somewhat similar, that may be considered to be put in this car. Who knows though; maybe we won't even get a V8, since we're supposed to forget everything we know...

If it flies like Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang, then we know it's not the 4 cyc Turbo engine.
