Nope, I actually pulled up to my buddy one day and didn't put in any mode and it worked. I was just messing with him at a light and pushed the clutch in and floored it and it stopped at 4000 rpm. We didn't take off or anything, but it does work.

Before I knew it had to be in a PTM I tried this and it definitely did NOT work on my '14.

Maybe yours is special...?

Some of the responses have made me ponder a couple of questions:

For NLS to work is there a certain rpm range that you need to be in?

Or is it just a matter of putting the petal to the floor?

Does it work when starting from another gear besides first?

Thanks

Recommend doing NLs at 6k that way your not bouncing off the limiter, but fast shifting is key.
Never tried LC in 2nd, unless you're on DRs, you're probably gonna just spin launching at 4k. Try launching at about 1800-2k. You'll have to play with it some to get it down perfect. It defiantly takes practice.

That is a pretty cool video I hadn't seen before.

This post has made me wonder about the questions I've asked:

This appears that there might be some real world applications to NLS, as I thought it had been reserved for the 1/4.

Can you use NLS when you're say in 2nd and want to get on it getting on the freeway, but not going all the way to 6K RPM? If so how?

^^^ Technically you can NLS whenever you want, but if you do it lower than the redline the rpm will just flare up. To take advantage of the programming you need to shift perfectly (as close to redline as possible) so it doesn't hit the rev limiter which cuts fuel and spark and also keeps boost through the shift.

Glad I haven't tried it yet, doing that seems like that would be hard on the car.

NLS is harder on the clutch so use it accordingly

There are a few long uphill freeway on ramps here in So Cal. 1st, and then into 2nd quickly and back off since you are asking for trouble by then. It really depends on the flow of traffic and location. The drivers here are "lead footed" especially when they see you in a ZL1 attempting to merge into traffic with them. The "cloverleaf" downhill on ramps here are fun since it's just cornering ability and no shifting involved.

Thanks...I've been wanting to give a shot, but haven't had a chance...but I don't want to tear my car up.

Are you able to get up to 6K RPM or shifting before?

Sounds like fun, I always get stuck behind a slow poke when I have a chance to have fun.
