No Lift Shift question

Does the car have to be in a certain PTM mode to use the NLS feature?

I couldn't find the answer in my manual. Thanks!

Yes.

PTM # 4 or 5.

# 4 with street tires.

# 5 with drag radials.

No. NLS works all the time. KaBoom is thinking of Launch Control. Launch control works in all the PTM modes. Not just 4 and 5.

Nope. The launch control is only available in a PTM mode or if you have a convertible it's available when you put it into competitive mode.

What Z06 Bryan typed earlier is what I have been going by. I just did NLS yesterday. NLS works well for me getting on the freeway on ramps at times when I need it. I watched it awhile ago but I'm pretty sure the video states you have to use the PTM modes to "activate" launch control?

Every time I've tried NLS, it feels like the car is hitting the fuel cutoff. Actually feels like the car hesitates. Either I need to try shifting sooner or there's something else going on.

On the No Lift Shift, you have to be fast...its a rapid shifting and it is designed to keep the BOOST rpm's up. You may hit the rev limiter but its more about maintaining the boost in the supercharger.

There are some great previous posts that have video's attached to them...Look em up.

So - NLS is available any time (and you have to do it quickly and before the cutoff) but LC is only available in PTM (PTM 4 for street tires and PTM 5 for DRs).

Right?

What's the difference between NLS and LC?

For a ZL1 with a M6 trans, no lift shift or NLS means that you do not need to take your foot off the accelerator when you go to push in the clutch to change gears. Launch Control or LC is a setting that will minimize wheel spin when you accelerate hard from a stand still.
