I agree that the clutch engagement is high and under regular driving mode if your foot is covering the gas I swear you can feel the gas pedal slowly depressing itself...makes me think regular mode is for people who drive with gas and clutch instead of leaving from the line with clutch engagement alone...

I also have found that in stabilitrak mode the clutch engagement is far more crisp and the throttle response is improved, the laggy feel between 1-2 especially seems to dissipate a discernible amount.

2013 SS with a factory HURST shifter (if it makes any difference), I noticed engaging about 1/3 from fully pressed and a really short travel to fully engaged. It took me a while getting used to because when backing up slowly when the car is new I would get a slight smell of burnt clutch. After 3 years I've pretty much perfected it.

Based on your clock system mine's between 4 & 5 o'clock. Driven sticks all my life and the Camaro's clutch is not my favorite, definitely takes some getting used to, but wouldn't trade it for an auto on it's worse day...

Mine has initial engagement around 4-5 then fully engaged around 2-3. I will say after I drove the Camaro and then had to move my Honda accord around that the Honda had maybe 2 inches of clutch travel where the Camaro has 4-5 inches. I think the clutch in the Honda was going lol

yeah, definitely taking some getting used to. Just picked up my car last night from the dealer and I must've killed it 3 times. After driving to work today though I've just about got it. It's a lot higher than the old 01 was.

Mine has a high engagement point as well. I am use to it due to the fact that my previous car(09 Cobalt SS) had a very similar engagement point.

You will have to give it just a little more gas, but it beats the embarrassment of cutting off at a stop light for me.

If u have to start in second gear so u don't jerk it then u need to learn how to drive manual better. This was my first manual and it's fine for me.

Right... because all manuals are the same. This is my 7th manual vehicle, and in some cases it's just easier to start off in 2nd gear.

Don't bother trying to make it a smooth shift. Just driving it with a little aggression when shifting and it seems to be smoother.
