There are no detailed installation videos of a Cold Air Inductions installation. There are plenty for Rotofab. In fact, I ended up using a Rotofab video to help me install the Cold Air Induction CAI! The manual is tiny, with tiny little pictures. I don't know what the Rotofab manual looks like. But the week after I installed the CAI, I had to install an overhead SafeRack in my garage. The SafeRack costs 1/3 as much as the CAI. The manual was over a dozen pages, glossy, with large half-page pictures that make the installation very clear. It just struck me how the CAI manual was so inferior, for something I consider to be more complex and much more important. |

No problem. I love it! Haven't had any issues with it. I'm curious to see what it dynos at when I add LT headers and no cats.

I think the LTFT trims are better with the CAI intake than Rotofab without a return, but not 100% sure. The doc that Jannetty posted was on a regular Camaro SS though, could be different for a ZL1.

Apparently it's for safety (shock I guess?) but it also starts the system from scratch for the new fuel maps. I think that's what I read? I just finished installing it. Took me about an hour. If you Google "Cold Air Inductions CAI install" you'll see a video by the guy who runs **********. He installs one in a SS, however, it's basically the same as the ZL1 and it actually made the whole thing much easier. I didn't use the instructions provided, except for disconnecting the battery. The fit was EXTREMELY tight, and it took me the longest time to get the top on. However, once I fired it up I did notice a difference. Not a big jump in power, but it did seem slightly peppier, just slightly. The HUGE difference is in the whine of the supercharger. Holy hell does it sound sweet! Get on it even a little bit and the thing just sings. Such a sweet, sweet sound. I am by no means a guy who works on cars so trust me if I can do it anybody can. For those that might be a bit worried......don't be, this thing is the real deal and is a really nice addition to the car.

Based on my experience, there's no such thing as a 20-30 minute mod…
