It's all relative, depending on wether or not you consider the "demented" V8 part of the lineup.

If you do; then as far as anybody here knows there will be 1 V6, and 2 V8s.
If you don't; then there's 1 V6, and 1 V8.

And, like Sphinx002 mentioned, there's talk of a Turbo 4 base car put 'below' the V6 in the lineup.

either way it's all speculation on till GM comes out with the facts.

I'll make it easy for you : "The 3.5L saves over 150 lbs. compared to the 4.6L V-8 also helping contribute to fuel efficiency savings of up to 20%"

So I can 'easily' conclude that the 4.6 is an inefficient overweight polluter, I suppose.

The 4.6 is many things but it is no polluter. It burns very clean.

With the market as it is, expect to see only 1 V8 for a while.

I don't believe in any Camaro V6 under 300 hp.

It's been two V6 and ONE V8 for the longest, the hi-po will show up down the road. I can not locate this suppose post of two V8s.

Thanks.
Ed Pepper said in an interview talking about the v6 model, the base model, and the SS (oh shit face in the video).

The thread is still around in the media/spyshots forum somewhere.

You might take Pepper's comments to mean there's 1 v6, base v8 and SS. You might take Pepper's comments to mean the base model is a v6 and the SS is the V8.

It's what Dragon said, although Maximum Bob said there will be three models so everything is up in the air still. GM is good at giving people what they want to know and revealing nothing at the same time.

I do believe you mean Ed Welburn. Still an 'Ed' though, so you get a cookie.

we don't know for sure. there was talk of having 2 V6's and 2 V8's. then 2 V6's and 1 V8. then 1 V6 and 2 V8's. Then a turbo 4 was mentioned, either as a replacement for the lower V6 or as an alternative to the only V6. A supercharged V8 is most likey going to be availible, and it can't be a Camaro if there isn't a naturally aspirated small block V8 in at least 1 of the models. All that being said, this is the first time I've heard anyone talk about a supercharged V6 though.

Basically, we think that there will be a 3.6L V6, then a V8 making between 360 and 436 hp, and a 6.2L supercharged V8 making 500+hp. No idea what will be Z28 or SS. Also no idea if there will even be a Z28, though SS has been confirmed.

Clear like mud?

I think the V8 Camaro will be fine as long as they don't pull a Challenger and price it at about $15k more than a similarly-performance numbered Mustang GT. Or make it weigh an insane amount. The entry V8 model (which I hope is LS3-equipped) needs to cost right around $30k, if not a little less. GM should do this because it's only a few grand more than a Mustang GT, and a nicer car for that little of a price difference will stop all the people like myself who bought a GT knowing full well they could spend the difference on mods and have a MUCH faster Mustang.

It's great that GM is finally giving performance-oriented buyers a reason to consider a V6 model. However, the largest target demographic for a V6 is still not going to care as much about performance as they are about price; it's paramount that the V6 Camaro has an entry level price that will equal the V6 Mustang, even though it may have more going for it.

Remember that they want to compete with the base mustang thats in the high $19,000's
