seriously though, i believe that it has more to do with the electric steering than the shaft itself. there should be some folks on here who know for sure

1le is an RPO code not a specific model. They do not come with 1LE specific mats or badging. Some of us have added personalized badges that were produced aftermarket. Even though they can be easily identified, the best way to identify a true 1LE is by looking in the trunk and pulling the carpet back, like shown above in previous comments.

Just find the build tag sticker with all the rpo codes and find if 1LE is listed.

Ok, I've seen too many pics of guys who have put the 1LE badges on...

Only thing that doesn't check out is the trunk lid spoiler - there doesn't look like it has one - but it's black, so it may. Doesn't have the RS package either, which is fine by me. I was going to replace the headlights with the regular stock ones anyway.

Really, the wheels kinda prove it if nothing else. Thanks for the help!

BTW - doesn't GM sell everything with floor mats? This one doesn't have any!
I don't know about all cars, but 1LE's come standard with floor mats for the front (driver and passenger).

Yes, and they are the standard floor mat in all Camaros. I keep those on the floor. They will show wear kinda quick, but that better than your carpet. Cheap to replace.

Of course I have a set of the premium SS floor mats brand new in my trunk for those special occasions.

A 1LE also has red Brembos.

Floor Mats

WeatherTech you say? Which ones? I found these: http://www.amazon.com/WeatherTech-Tr...ech+floor+mats but they're also the cheapest - and significantly so. Is there a reason for that?

Just look at the RPO codes... Some people are making this way more complicated than it needs to be... And if it's a brand new car it's extremely highly unlikely that the dealer put all the 1LE amenities on it just for sh-ts and giggles. If it's not brand new, then just look at the RPO sticker. Simple as that.

No, it's used - and I'm just used to seeing them with the aftermarket badging. Plus, there are a lot of guys who upgraded their SS to match, so I got confused.

Red calipers are a dead giveaway for a 1LE.

RPO tells all... find it and you'll know everything you need to know.
