I've had the BFGs on order for a couple of weeks. 285 front, 305 rear. When I placed the order the 285's were in stock and the 305's scheduled for end of Sept. Yesterday I found out BFG has put the 305s on hold with no delivery date :(

Yep...
DWS in 275/315 work good enough for mild winters in flat Central NJ. Should work for you similarly well 30 miles East in NYC. Unless you plan on driving it somewhere more snowy. Then you will need real snow tires.

Why did you go with the 275 front instead of the 285?

285/35/20 are not available in the DWS.
I went with 275/35/20 instead. They do have 285/35/20, but those do not have a sufficient service rating.

The fronts are great and what was recommended for my application from the manufacture and the tire shop who put them on. 275 in the front and 315 in the rear has to much variance plus the profile on the 275 is a 40 not 35 like you think, check that again.. (way to much sidewalI, not suited for this car, maybe a caddy)... Not dissing your set up man but you should of definitely went with the 285 up front . not to mention the handling improved significantly. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk |

The DWS is just for winter, so a 10 mm front downsize is acceptable.
I have 295 / 315 MPSS for the other 3 seasons. Surely you are not running the DWS all year ?? The stock GY fronts have a 100Y rating. It is my understanding that you cannot drop below the stock tire ratings. TDD refused to sell me an almost full-sized spare tire because the load rating was slightly less.
