Cool, thanks, I'll make sure to try it out next time...

Guess I shoulda been reading the manual, but if I'm not out "driving it like I stole it", I'm here on this forum, sooooooooooo, no time to be reading the manual...

That's what this forum is for...for all of us to help each other out with ????s about the car, and to give ACTUAL driver feedback....

Thanks, all!!!!....LOVE the Camaro, LOVE the forum...

If you read the manual, it will tell you to hit the gas pedal and it will drop down to 4th gear to pass. If you hit it and quickly release the gas pedal, the tranny still drops into 4th and stays there for better response when you can pass. If you decide to not pass, lightly tap the gas pedal and it will go back into 6th gear or something along those lines. I didn't quote the manual.

I have been driving my 2LT/auto for a little over a week. I have put about 850 miles on it and couldn't be happier with the car. I have not babied it but I haven't hit red line yet either. I really like the big difference from "D" to "M"/sport mode.

I was gonna say, I passed like 4 cars last night and when I went, it had a standard kick and then the sucker took off pretty good. Enough to surprise me.

But the 2LT is awesome, I love it.

Two words ---- love it. The standard "D" mode is great for everyday and the "M" mode gives a great feel with a bit more of a sporty attitude. Haven't used the tapshift yet and can't comment; but, it should take the sport attitude to a higher level. Just remember that the computer is in ultimate control and let it do its job.

I would bet the automatic is fine. In all honesty, I have the 2LT/RS with the manual 6 speed and quite frankly, wish I had ordered the automatic. I figured a car like this would be much more fun to drive with the manual, and assumed it would be a silky smooth tranny, like that of my former 1998 S-10 was. Boy was I wrong! The shifter is too notchy, the clutch too grabby, and the shift pattern is not really set up right. First and third are too close together, resulting in a tendency every so often for me to put it in third when I mean to be in first and stall it. Part of this also lies in the fact that Reverse is in a strange spot just beyond first and in the beginning, a few times I put it in first meaning to be in reverse. Overall, this tranny makes the car more of a chore to drive, and takes a lot of getting used to. I am sure I will get used to it and be fine but I still wish I had driven one with the manual beforehand.....I would have gotten the automatic hands down. It is the only part of the car that I am not totally happy with.

My wife uses the V6 as a daily driver. (I still like my V8 for the raw power feeling)

I love my V8, but the 2LT V6 is the ultimate Sports Car if being used as a daily driver to me. When I drive it, I keep it in sport mode and it holds the shifts out well. The engine is smooth and quiet. The V6 has it all....power, great gas mileage, high performance, and under 30K

I am in no way bashing my 2SS RS V8 as it is my dream car. I think you will be quite pleased with the 2LT V6.
