I went with ceramic tint which doesn't effect RF transmission.

On the Ipod, completely power down the ipod and try plugging it back in. Sometimes ipods get cranky and need a reboot to sync up with a car stereo. If that doesn't work try another dealer but start with the mp3 problem and then mention the radio and if it does work still try another dealer for the radio.

I have metallic tint and my FM radio and cellphone work just fine. The only way tint is to blame for your radio issue is if the tint shop damaged the antenna during install.

However, Gary is probably right. Your dealer won't fix it because they wont take responsibility for the tint.

Tint shop sold me on ceramic, and partly because they said the metallic could interfere with the radio reception. But the ceramic is also supposed to keep the heat out more. I suckered up and bought the ceramic, but figured it would be worth it. I'm glad I did now, since the money is already gone, I don't miss it. Total tint cost for cermic was about 259.00, but that was supposed to be 100.00 off because I got clear bra and viper alarm along with the tint. I have seen approximate cost of about 400.00 for ceramic posted on another thread. If you paid 150.00 or so, you more than likely got the metallic, so could be an issue.

I say BS!!! I have limo tinted every car I have ever owned entire front windshield and all since 1990. 10 cars total. I have never in my life heard of something so stupid.

As for the ipod. I would have told the guy I know more about this car than you ever will. Most owners know more about their car than any sales person or mechanic.

Guys Its NOT dealer. The dealer will work on it, but the dealer can't claim it as Warranty work. It's in the warranty book, under things NOT covered by warranty: "Damage due to accident, misuse or alteration" I'm sure the dealer will gladly work with him, but the dealer can't claim it as warranty, cus they won't get paid. Maybe they can try to put it in as a Good Will claim, but even that is iffy. And if the tint did break or mess up the antenna, trust me better to replace the back glass than to try to fix antenna.

very simple...you modify your car outside the dealership, then caveat emptor. you are 100% on your own. radio worked at delivery - no problem. radio fouled up after third party modification - your problem w/ the third party vendor. iPod issues - read the bloody manual and follow the directions. not all systems are compatible and the manual is very clear on what does and doesn't sync and what cables/connections should be used. look for the remedy to your issues in the bathroom mirror when you shave....

I had my tint done at the dealer and specifically asked before they started that "you know you can't use metalic tint on that window it says right in the owner manual not to because of the antenna right?" the guy promissed me he knew and told me what kind he was using and would not void warranty and even gave me a signed work order that states the warranty would be valid. I have had no trouble with mine yet.
