It may not be the dealer. We run into this alot. If the tint is what's affecting the antenna, and the dealer submits it under warranty, GM will shoot it back, and the dealer won't get paid for repair. You may want to see if you can get the Service Manager to see if he can submit it under a "Goodwill" claim. They can do some of those. For items that don't fall under warranty. Just a thought

Antenna in rear window...never a good idea...putting TINT not tints...WILL decrease your reception. Dealer not wanting to fix rear window with your TINT on it...probably so. They don't want to be responsible for fixing your tint when it gets scratched.

Is your tint metallic by chance? If so, that will affect your reception too.

Go to another dealer, but be willing to sign a waiver about your tint getting damaged if they are working around it. Why should the dealer have to be responsible for your modifications?

They HAVE NOT voided your warranty and won't void your warranty for window TINT, but they sure don't have to work on the rear window if they don't want to.

Good luck with your repair-I'm sure you can find someone willing to work on it for you.

Those antenna's on the back window do suck.. So its very touchy. Usually we don't even try to fix the antenna/defrost, we just replace whole window0,o

And tell the OP...would you be replacing his tint? You don't have any responsibility to fix window tint. I think this is the part he may not understand when it comes to a dealer not wanting to work on the car.

At this point you should probably have your tint taken off of the rear window and go from there. Then you will find out if it is causing the problem and when everything is taken care of, just have them retint it. This will save the hassel of going round and round with the dealer.

Like others said, certain tints can have an effect on the radio frequency. I would try another dealer. Perhaps they could help.

So your XM works and AM works, but not FM? You may have to use a different type of tint that wont interfere with your radio.
