Thanks for the tip on the SS master. It really does feel better. It's kinda weird ya know, when I took for its first test drive after installing it I really was like, "now this must be what a v8 car feels like when stopping". Not easier to stop, per say, but a much more meatier pedal of that makes sense

+1 on adding the SS Master Cylinder. I did a 1LE swap on my car but didn't do the SS Master for 8 months. Huge difference in pedal feel and stopping power.

Haha true true but once you get behind the wheel of her, the car that is, thru some twisties you'll be the one who's smiling big and happy. Next to the engine mods the suspension and brake upgrades made for a completely different car

It will be fun helping her out. I've done this for nearly 40 years with every brand of American car (my last Camaro though was a then new '82 Z28 in charcoal grey), so I just feel lucky to have a better half that gets it. It's just money and we're middle age--you only live once.

You could get after market sway bars to start if money is a problem. They will seriously improve handling, stopping the body roll through the corners. That was my first MOD of many. The 1LE track pack is pricey, but you get it all at the same time.

I went same route as eddiefuzz and swapped out to a Ss master a few months later and put braided Stainless steel hoses on at the same time along with a high grade dot 4 brake fluid (stoptech). I am now just a couple weeks later and separating the clutch resevior to keep the expensive fluid clean and hopefully a better response from the clutch, higher pedal release.

Or just get the rear 1LE sway now with the brakes. Wow what a difference when the roll is gone!
You can save some labor and keep your stock front sway as there is only a 1mm difference between that and the 1LE, someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Been watching this thread... I'm considering some suspension upgrades, and I've eyeballed the 1LE pack, but I'm not interested in doing the brembo upgrade right now. Anyone care to chime in about potential aftermarket suspension upgrades that are compatible with the stock V6 setup?

While I get the general concept of upgrading swaybars/bushings, I don't "get" suspension setups in the same way I understand powertrain upgrades.

I'm tempted to just starting small, and work our way to a full blown suspension and brake package over time....

That's where I am at, also. I have no complaints about the V6 braking system. It's already better than either of my other two vehicles. I have no doubt the brembo system is better, but I'd rather put my money into headers and rear gears before I get into upgrading the brakes. All of that being said, I would like to find a solution that will keep the ass-end a little more planted to the pavement.

After market swaybars are cheap and easy.
