I debated long and hard about 1SS or 2LT/RS with sunroof. In the end I got my 2LT/RS. Now the one thing that ended up being the deciding factor is that I still have my 2000 Z28 with a fair amount of work done to it. So I've got a track car and a daily driver.

Bring up a good point. If you've been driving a fast car for a long time, you may not mind. But if you never have, you're gonna hate not having the speed to go along with your 'appearance'

Would you rather have a fully loaded 2LT/RS with all the bells and whistles or a base 1SS with none of the extras?

SO the only thing that I can think of is the V8, but is that worth the extra $$ and then lose out on all the nice cool looks of the RS package and mp3/remote start and all that jazz ...

My budget could have 1 or the other, so I made my choice to be a fully loaded 2LT/RS .... did I make the right choice?
1SS with out a doubt, please realize not all the people buying the 1SS vs 2SS are doing it for economic reasons, I got the 1SS because the 2SS has options I do not want...

I had this same decision too (2LT/RS or 1SS). I got the 2LT because it is my daily driver and the options were important to me. Some of the stuff is cool but I could live without (heated seats etc), but the USB port is my favorite thing about the car (besides the looks and power of course) and I love the HID lights. The V6 is more than enough power to slam me back in my seat on those unfortunately rare occasions where traffic permits (I have a 10 mile commute each way but in pretty heavy traffic most of the time).

Those who say you will definitely regret not getting the V8 mean they would have regretted not getting the V8. To each his (or her) own. I for one do not (although to be fair if money was no object and I had a 2nd car for my daily driver and a garage to keep my Camaro in during the winter, I would have opted for the 2SS/RS). But I am extremely happy with my decision and have no regrets.

Depends, are you buying for performance or looks?

I'm getting a 1SS...I wouldn't even consider the camaro in its V6 form...I would get a mustang GT loaded if you want bells and whistles...the GT Mustang has way better interior features than the camaro...ie ISync..

But...of course, the Camaro in its v8 glory is just to powerful to pass up...A 2SS with all the bells and whistles starts getting close to Corvette price...I could have a new 09 vette for 38k...I wouldnt want to pay more for a camaro than a corvette...

So...imo the sweet spot is the 1SS...if you have to have leather just go ahead and upgrade your interior later. A 1SS is also a smidgen lighter than the 2SS...

But...this is of course coming from the viewpoint of someone looking for a toy and not a DD...If the camaro was my DD i'd prolly have to have some more features in there...but its not so...

Ranking....

1SS>Mustang GT>V6 Camaro....

2LT is a great choice. I would have gone with the 1SS but car ins. was to much.

How much were they going to charge you for the 1SS as opposed to the LT?

This will be my everyday car and I am buying for the looks, and will not be racing, but might modify in the future, such as airflow and tweaking here and there. The only thing that I did not order with my 2LT/RS was the sunroof ... saved a couple of bucks and really don't need it.

The RS package was a must and can't wait to get it. My code as of last Wed was at 3400, I guess that means they are in the middle of making it.

I do feel real good about my choice and thanks or all your input. For a everyday drive car, the 2LT/RS should be great! Yellow with the black stripes.
