Would not use a grinder but I bought this and plan on using it to remove the residue:

I plan to remove the side pieces and possibly the rear bowtie as I had plasti dipped it years ago but completely fd it up and didn't do enough coats so now I can't peel it off or anything.

used a heat gun and thin wire. came off real easy. picked up some adhesive remover and let that soak into the rest of the residue and spent about 15-20 min. per side getting it all off after the soak. will post the final pictures after I get out of work.

Looks so much cleaner. Was going back and forth about doing it or not but your pictures solidified me doing it.

I am so much happier with it like this. the only thing I'm on the fence about now is going to matte black lettering spaced closer together than OE. either way I'm staying with this for a good bit of time
