The only way in my opinion to turn off TC is to remove the ABS pump fuse and relay. You will get an audible warning when you start it up and a DIC warning. Just ignore them, they will go away.

Another dss failure

If you hold down the traction control button for about 10-20 seconds it's will disabled traction control and competitive mode. You're traction control will be completely off.

Yes, I am aware of using this method of turning off traction control. That is how I did it when I tracked my car, but if Merc is right about his statement pulling the fuse verses holding the traction button down then that is what I need to know. If you are stating holding the traction control button down does the same as pulling the fuse then I would not pull the fuse. I want to know which is best for the car so I don't break anything in the electronics.
