Also try changing how you get into and out of the car.

Maybe sit on the seat first and then swing your legs in rather than trying to do right leg first or right leg and butt simultaneously. Swing both legs out first and use your left hand to help you stand up on the way out.

Tilt the wheel up before getting out to give yourself more leg room to 'maneuver' yourself in.

No back pain from the Camaro, but is hard to get in and out, like with any car, while having back pain - I recommend a TENS back pad. sends little electric pulses to that desired muscle. AMAZING results! wife got me one from CVS for $30.

Added benefit to the 1LE flat bottom wheel! I am not kidding, it makes a difference. I do just as you have suggested and sit and swing the legs to get in, and then vice versa to get out. I just always have to park where I can be sure I can get the door open almost all the way.

Yoga.

Seriously. It helped me a ton

Cops are notorious for blowing out their backs. Sitting in the car all day, heavy gun belt, they all take their toll. Stretching and improving core strength helps a TON, and without medication, injection, or expense.

What it won't do is repair slipped discs or the like, only time and physical therapy will do that. PT and yoga helped me regain a lot of mobility and reduce a lot of back pain, though.

I've occasionally had lower back pain to varying degrees since the early 1970's. On bad days, which fortunately don't happen too often, I'll wear a weightlifter's belt and that helps quite a bit. I'd give the belt away to anybody with a puzzled look on their face if they'd take the discomfort along with it. So far, no takers.

I used to where a Back-A-Line for years while doing long distance IBA type riding. That thing was great!

A few of you have pm's me asking for the exercises, so I figured I post them on here. Let me preface by saying I would suggest seeing a specialist no matter what, they may recommend alternative exercises but these seem to be the general ones. There are others which I can post quick videos on if need be. Also keep in mind there were certain things I needed to give up, like lose weight, I am 5'7" and weighed close to 200lbs, I am now 175-180, always worked out but I like to eat and drink. There is no more squatting, deadlifting, barbell rows , there is no more running on pavement, only grass or sand as the hitting of the pavement jars the spine pretty hard. I was also a former martial artist who competed and fought weekly. I had to give that up and only spar with my son.

If you are going to do any work around the house or yard or car, stretch before during and after, its tedious at times but worth it. Hope this stuff helps . The bio foam roller and resistance bands can be purchased on amazon , ebay or maybe a medical supply place. Just don't buy the knobbed bio foam roller, buy the smooth one I was just a glutton for the pain. Good luck and feel free to pm for more info

Those muscles once they get weak or hurt shut down on you even though you stay active you need specific exercises to restart them. My advice find a good specialist to who can recommend some exercises you can do at home daily. Maybe takes 15 mins of my day a few times a week. Hell pm me and I would email you what I have. Changed my life.
This. I do some simple stretches in the morning everyday and I never have back pain. Used to but no more. Takes about 7 minutes and feels great.

Make sure you never sit with your wallet in your back pocket while sitting in a car, it jacks your back and hips all to hell. A good friend is a spinal/neuro surgeon and he said a large percentage of back related issues can be attributed to something as simple as that little wallet.

Not sure where else you're going to put it.

But maybe split the wallet load up into two thinner wallets and "even up" the resulting posture at least a little.

Keep your mad $ in the wallet you don't tell her about . . .

get the credit card size wallet and keep in in your shirt pocket or the console. If the LEOs run your plate they know if you are good or bad before they even get out of the car.

Put your real money in your front pants pockets.
Never carry any change. Toss those pennies on the ground. The urchins wil have a field day.
